DERBY AND HIS BADGES

i have fallen in love with plastic toys
and cannot seem to let them go
i love blue, yellow and red ones
but the wooly ones feel  best
in my hands.
A police badge
a toy gun or plane
my polaroid camera and its floppy neckpiece
i was told metal toys are best
but these recollections will do.

a body of work made recalling childhood scribblings of toys and weapons,  violence is naively disguised as playful. Oddly cartoonish compositions of military badges, stuffed toys and silver scribblings
Enlarged pinbacks, upholstered bodies, and rhinestone gestures reveal these objects' insecurities - camouflage both formally and conceptually.
